My Story
Hey there, I'm Natasha, the heart and soul behind Myfika.
Let me take you on a journey—a journey that's deeply personal and profoundly transformative.
It all started during a time of immense change and upheaval in my life. I found myself grappling with the loss of my mother and the bittersweet transition of my son leaving home. At the same time hitting 50 and realising that the menopause was also kicking in. Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, I stumbled upon an unexpected lifeline—painting.
I have worked as a creative hairstylist for over 30 years, building a successful business, training other hairstylists and working on exciting projects within the fashion, music and commercial world. But in all this time I never knew my creativity extended to a paint brush rather than a tint brush! Who knew?
Painting wasn't just a hobby for me; it became my sanctuary, my refuge from the storm. In the vibrant swirl of colours and the rhythmic dance of brushstrokes, I found solace, expression, and a newfound sense of purpose.
Drawing inspiration from the Nordic tradition of Fika—a ritual centred around taking a moment for oneself—I founded Myfika. By adding 'My' to Fika, it became more than just a tradition; it became a personal invitation—a reminder to carve out time for myself, in whatever form that may take.
Through Myfika, I'm on a mission to share the healing power of art with others. My workshops aren't about teaching painting techniques; they're about guiding souls on a journey of self-discovery and inner peace. We explore acrylic paint and free expression, creating not just art but moments—moments of connection, clarity, and joy.
It's my hope that through Myfika, others may find what I found—a sanctuary for the soul, a space to rediscover themselves, and a community of kindred spirits. So come join me, and let's paint our way to a brighter, more colourful tomorrow.
